Justice Is Calling...

Image
Hello there! First things first... Live-Action trailer sounds so snazzy and professional, doesn't it?! =P The video above took a fair few hours and hard work to put together, and I really hope that it shows in the finished product. Please feel free to share it, like it, let others know about it, and most importantly, let  me know what you think - feedback is pivotal to me. I hope I got the atmosphere and tone right, and that it's got you thinking about what the story has in store! As for When Justice Comes Calling itself, the project is back with a vengeance, and on course to be released in the latter part of the year (my aim is for a August/September release, but I put 'LATE 2015' in the trailer just in case the date gets pushed back). I've reworked the story from the ground up, streamlining it and developing it, and I think it's safe to say that the final draft is looking more and more polished as each day passes. I have to bear in mind that I started the proj...

Brucie Bonus Blog - Brand New Alien Movie Announced!

Image
Hey guys, quick blog entry on the exciting news of a brand new Alien movie that was announced this morning! As a huge fan of the franchise, and owner of the Alien Anthology and Prometheus , this news has me pretty damn excited. I've always been a huge fan of the Alien franchise, ever since I reached my teens and saw Aliens for the very first time. The space setting, the horror elements, the action elements, the pacing, the bleakness, the Xenomoph's, I loved all of it. I went out to watch Alien 3 which I think has its merits, and whilst a flawed film, it's still an enjoyable watch. Alien: Resurrection is... eh. VERY flawed, a few redeeming qualities but they are few and far between in my mind. I only sat down and watch the original Alien movie from 1979 a few years ago, constantly worried it would be too dated for my liking; instead, I was stunned by how well it held up for even today's standards, and I put it right alongside Aliens as my of my favourite films o...

Spiderman Joins The MCU! | My 20+ Year History With The Webslinger

Image
My earliest memory of the most successful Marvel character in history is surprisingly not the comic books from which Spiderman came from. I was going through my old collection (of over 175 issues) and noticed the earliest issue was from January 1997 (and what a horrifying cover it is too!) . I did some digging; turns out my earliest memory of Spiderman is the 1994 animated series that used to air on Live & Kicking. Ah, memories - and speaking of memory, mine is better than I thought! I would've been 3 or 4 years old at the time Spiderman began airing. I remember also for my 5th birthday in Wales being given a Spiderman VHS tape (remember those?!) as a present which featured the debut of Venom. No wonder he's still one of my favourite villains to this day!  The 1994 Spiderman cartoon was amazing.   The Spiderman cartoon was a pretty damn faithful adaption of the comics, and included all the popular characters from Spidey's illustrious rouge gallery - G...

A World Against Light | Death Note Retrospective

Image
I'm honestly not sure where to start with Death Note, because the series caught me completely off-guard when I started watching it a month or so ago. As chronicled in my Fullmetal Alchemist retrospective back in October , I had re-discovered my love for anime, and was on a quest to start watching more series' that were available on Netflix. I started off with Sword Art Online which held my attention for the first season (a retrospective of that will be written when I finally get round to watch season two), but none of the other shows on Netflix particularly appealed to me. Chris, a colleague at work, had suggested that I started watching Death Note, as it was the series that sparked his interest in anime. Figuring I had nothing to lose, and seeing the universal praise it'd received on the internet, I decided to buy the boxset of 37 episodes. I popped the first disc in just before Christmas, and... something didn't click. I'm still not 100% sure what ...
