Dealing With Anxiety

Image
I just want to take the time to thank you for reading this piece. It’s not often I put myself out there in this way, and I debated for a while on whether to post it or not – but at the end of the day, anxiety can be a real issue for a lot of people, a serious medical condition that should have more attention and understanding from everybody. I’m still looking inwards, trying to understand it myself, and sometimes it’s a real struggle. I just hope if there’s anybody who feels the same that this might help them in some way. Once again, thanks for reading. - Will --- It's been just over three months since I've written anything new for either my Facebook page or my blog,  www.saveuswp.blogspot.com.  How time flies. I've sat in front of my computer for the better part of two months just staring, trying to think of anything to write about - a short fictional piece perhaps, or maybe a movie review of some kind, but no matter how hard I tried, the words simply wouldn...

Retro Games Night - What Happens When You Mix Alcohol & SNES!

Image
#RetroGamesNight – 5th  September 2014 Back on 5th September 2014, myself and Peter decided to have a night of competition, boozing and old-school gaming all rolled into one. Dubbed Retro Games Night, and documented on both Twitter and Instagram, we engaged in battle in various SNES games, with Jim Beam, Jack Daniels and homemade Jagerbombs to help see us through! Below is a write-up of said festivities. Enjoy! Games Played & Results Unofficial Warm-Up WWF Super WrestleMania – After Will demolished Peter in two separate matches, the game was not recognised as part of the evening’s festivities. Will let this slide, full of confidence in his own skills at Mario games. His confidence was misplaced… Game One Street Fighter 2 – There is minimal records to the events of the first game of the evening, Street Fighter 2. However, it is a very good bet that the forfeit for losing each round was a Jagerbomb, going off memory. The only record of this event is...

What's Next? - 2015 Retrospective & Future Plans

Image
It's been a pretty busy year. 2015 is coming to a close, as time is passing by at an alarming rate. It only feels like yesterday that I was sitting here at the end of 2014, preparing to release my short story 'This Is Not An Exit' for early 2015, and planning for the year ahead creatively. It's now the end of 2015, and I've succeeded in the goals I set for myself, for which I honestly couldn't be prouder. Not only did I manage to release 'This Is Not An Exit' and exercise some of those creative demons so to speak, but I finally managed to release 'When Justice Comes Calling' after over two and a half years of hard work. As I've detailed previously, I first began work on 'When Justice Comes Calling' in May 2013, and it was a far different animal than the finished product that you can read today. I became frustrated with myself and the direction the project was taking, and decided to switch gears and write a far shorte...

This Is My Story - Opening Up

Image
"I bounce around and laugh and sing and dance and joke and cheer everyone up because what else am I for? And I know I really am good at stuff, lots of stuff, and I know I have a family that loves me, and I really am happy most of the time, I AM, and I want other people to be happy too... but not always. And the rest of the time... I don't let people see." I've been doing a lot of thinking, perhaps a little bit too much recently as I often do, but I thought I'd kind've open myself up with this blog entry - I'm hoping it'll be cathartic for me to get this written down. It may come across as a jumbled up mess, but hey, with what I'm trying to tackle I think I'm entitled to a free pass on this one. I can never remember having kind of worrying thoughts or feelings as a kid - I loved school, had great mates and family, the works. I was doing a lot of inward thinking this weekend just gone, thinking about life and me as a person, and it...

Crossroads: Job, Girlfriend, Home & The Future

Image
"This is it. This is your story. It all begins here." One door closes, another door opens. I'm 24 going on 25, almost a quarter of a century on this planet, and far removed from my teenage years. With that said, as I move forward, I have three goals in mind that I want to achieve by this time next year: - I want to find a new job, maybe. I love the place I work as well as the people I work with, but my true love and passion is writing, and it continues to nag at me every day. If I could find a job in that field, I can feel truly fulfilled and by that token, have a body of work I can be proud of. - I want to find a girlfriend, someone to share my experiences with, not to mention my interests and hers, maybe eventually start a life together. I want somebody to spoil, a woman who I can proudly introduce to friends and family alike. - I want to find a place to move to, a place of my own to call my own or to share with friends/flatmates and be indepen...

Justice Is Calling...

Image
Hello there! First things first... Live-Action trailer sounds so snazzy and professional, doesn't it?! =P The video above took a fair few hours and hard work to put together, and I really hope that it shows in the finished product. Please feel free to share it, like it, let others know about it, and most importantly, let  me know what you think - feedback is pivotal to me. I hope I got the atmosphere and tone right, and that it's got you thinking about what the story has in store! As for When Justice Comes Calling itself, the project is back with a vengeance, and on course to be released in the latter part of the year (my aim is for a August/September release, but I put 'LATE 2015' in the trailer just in case the date gets pushed back). I've reworked the story from the ground up, streamlining it and developing it, and I think it's safe to say that the final draft is looking more and more polished as each day passes. I have to bear in mind that I started the proj...
